Volunteer Opportunities for Porter County Democrats
We have many different events this year that we are looking for volunteers for. Besides these events, please keep an eye out for candidate events. We also need people to get involved with government at the local, township and county levels. Email don@pcindems.org if you are interested.
Here are the volunteer opportunities we have to date:
Primary – May 5th – If you would like to be a poll worker, please contact the Elections office. We have 2 major primaries, and several other primaries. Contact your favorite candidates and offer to help with their campaigns. Also, Congressman Mrvan and our state candidates all need your help.
State Conference – June 5th and 6th -Vols Needed – Please let me know if you are
willing to help. I have heard from 3 people, and I am hoping to hear from a couple more. We currently have enough delegates, but you can email me to be an alternate.
Beers, Brats, Blue jeans – June 13th – we have a hall and a bartender it will be
at the Portage American Legion. We need food, and some activities. Set up, tear down, and promotion.
Portage 4th of July Parade – we need bodies and can use some decoration
help.
County Fair July 23- Aug 1, 2026 – We need some Décor ideas, we need
people to take shifts. We also need set up on the 22nd and tear down the
evening of the 1st.
Kouts Pork Fest August 21st and 22nd. We will have a booth, and we will have
candidates in the parade that could use help.
Comedian Cliff Cash Concert August 26th. We are doing this in tandem with
La porte County. We will need to sell tickets. We will are forming a committee
soon to work together with Julie Sinclair the La porte County Chairwoman.
Popcorn Fest – September 12th we need people to walk; we can use some
décor ideas. Both the Valpo Dems and the County Dems have a parade spot,
but they will be adjacent.
September Gala – September 18th – Duneland Falls. We are looking to form
a committee for this. We need a name; we need a keynote speaker. We may
need some recognition awards. We need promotion and we need ideas that
will make this the best Gala ever!
